We enjoyed our stay. Great Hospitality. The one difficulty was our understanding that after being moved to another Hotel do to illness of a guest who had to stay longer and occupy our rooms we would be provided with free transfer to the airport after our stay. In February 2005 a meeting of old classmates from the german school Alexander von Humboldt in Lima was organised and many of us living nowadays all over the world got together and had a fantastic time. In july '04 we spent two nights at the SAN ANTONIO ABAD for the beginning of our journey through peru and, three weeks later, a very closed calculated stay (with no problems at all). i only can say the very best about this accomodation. the rooms are clean and comfotable. it's really relaxing and recreative to stay the night in a place like that after a long flight. the pick-up-service from the airport and even the bring-to-service very very early in the morning went perfectly. this hotel is absolutely recommendable, as you can see from the other comments as well. thanks a lot to the whole SAN ANTONIO ABAD team. greetz, peter

We stayed at the San Antonio Abad last August. We were picked up and taken from the airport, the room was lovely, the staff friendly and helpful. The coffee and breakfast wonderful. The hotel is in a safe area. I would highly recommend. We travelled extensively in Peru and it just felt like coming home.

A highly recommendable hotel in a beautiful and convenient neighbourhood of Lima. We, a family of 3 adults were staying there twice in Oct/Nov 2003 for US $50 per night. It included a full buffet breakfast with eggs prepared of your choice. This was the only place where the coffee was not the usual liquid concentrate, but, having an Italian espresso coffee machine there, each cup of ordered coffee was freshly made. During the early hours of the day, breakfast was served by friendly, organised and efficient staff.The rooms are equipped with safe deposit boxes and at the ground floor is a room with internet facilities. Both were provided free of charge to their hotel guests.The reception staff are very attentive and helpful to provide precise information and advise. We also found them very reliable since we left the re-confirmation for our onward flights in their hands. We would doubt very much if one could find better value in any other capital city on this continent and expressively recommend San Antonio Abad Hotel to any other travellers. Avoid the large and dirty atmostphere of Lima, and stay at this hotel in nearby Miraflores, instead. Professional and accomodating! San Antonio Abad's service extended to prompt airport pickup and delivery, storing our bags for several days, and making calls to ease our minds about flight departure times. I would like to say that our short stay was delightful. The staff were very helpful, the hotel was very clean and safe. Breakfast was very good with scrambled eggs,fruit, cheese, juice and bread. If we return to Lima I will certainly return to Hotel San Antonio Abad. the airport transfer takes the worry out of arriving and finding our way to the hotel in the middle of the night. In planning our trip to Peru, we had read great reviews about the hotel in several travel guide books. After staying at San Antonio Abad, I can now understand why the hotel has recieved numerous recommendations. The staff is EXTREMELY hospitable and helpful. The hotel is also located across the street from a nice park and only a few minutes distance by taxi to downtown Miraflores. I have travelled alot, and the hospitality I received at San Antonio is extremely gracious . The staff was wonderful and I would like to thank them very much. The hotel is a beautiful colonial style residence that is kept immaculately clean. The breakfast buffet includes freshly squeezed juice, fresh fruit, freshly ground coffee, fresh bread, ham and eggs made to order. It is only a 10 minute walk from the heart of Miraflores. We had the pleasure of staying at the San Antonio Abad in January.The staff was extremely friendly,helpful and made our stay very pleasant. The room was clean and nice, but the bed was a little firm. The breakfast was good and fresh. I have travelled extensively, and the hospitality I received at San Antonio is unequaled. The staff was incredible and I would like to thank them very much. Their moto is "mi casa en su casa" and they follow that moto closely. The hotel is a beautiful character residence that is kept immaculately clean. But what please me so much was the way you handled all my reservations, train, hotel in Cuzso, tours, etc. This meant a lot to me as I don't speak Spanish. I was always treated so well, plenty of food when I needed it and the use of the Computer to check Email and airline tickets was great! This hotel is comfortable and clean and a great bargain! The location is close to sights in Miraflores and a reasonable taxi ride to sights in Lima. Included in the price is pick up at the airport, which is a big bonus. The individually made coffee at the buffet breakfast was the best we had in Peru. All the staff was attentive and spoke very good English. They were helpful in ways we would never have imagined-- including getting a plane ticket to Cusco for us when our airline changed the day of their flight! We would recommend this hotel without reservation!

I have stayed at the San Antonio Abad during each of my trips to Lima for the past six years and recommend it as a comfortable, secure, moderately priced hotel. The staff is always friendly and helpful. San Antonio Abad is located within easy walking distance of the principal commercial and tourist areas of Miraflores. If you make a reservation ahead of time, the staff will send a driver to the airport to pick you up, without charge, a service I always appreciate since many flights from the U.S. to Lima arrive late at night or very early in the morning. The free breakfast also recommends the hotel, as does the recent installation of two computers attached to the internet, which lodgers can use for $1 per day. I will definitely stay there again.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel San Antonio Abad on September, 2002 and we had a great experience. I recommend this hotel to everyone because it is very clean and the people are very helpful and nice. After staying in a low budget hotel in Cusco it was so nice to return to San Antonio Abad...they made us feel at home. I recommend staying in the suite on the 3rd floor. We stayed in one of the rooms on the 2nd floor but the second time we stayed there they gave us a room on the 3rd floor(it had a balcony):) We really enjoyed the breakfast...we especially loved the coffee. They also have a taxi waiting for you in the airport (this service is included with your room fee), this makes it very helpful because when you get off the plane you are very tired and if that's not enough the crowds of people overwhelm you because everyone is trying to offer you a ride...it takes about 30 minutes to get to the hotel from the airport...the streets can be a little scarry at night so I definitely recommend calling a taxi before you get there. San Antonio Abad is the place you want to stay at in Lima, especially if being close to the airport is a priority. The place is nicely decorated in Peruvian style - the owners are accomodating, warm, and well-informed - the rooms are clean and comfortable - and the price is convenient and fair. I visited Peru this May. This hotel was the best during my stay in Peru. Especially, free pick-up service was so convenient. I could apply for it with making reservation only by E-mail. Though Lima airport was not so safe,I felt, I didn't have to worry about it because the driver had waited for me at the exit. I appreciate the hospitality.

When we went to Peru for both pleasure and work we were recommended to stay at San Antonio Abad in Lima. It didn't take long for us to understand why this cosy and typical little hotel has become a favourite among many Norwegian humanitarian workers on visit in the heterogeneous city of Lima: the nice and practical location, the natural and friendly service, the staff's sincere and dedicated helpfulness, a warm and relaxed atmosphere and a tasty breakfast. We travelled to several places in Peru and came back to San Antonio Abad each time we had to transit via Lima, just to hear the nice and very descriptive greeting: "Bienvenidos a su casa", welcome to your home. A cliché many places, definitely a reality as far as San Antonia Abad is concerned. We will go back to Peru in a not too distant future and San Antonio Abad will be a natural part of our stay.

It was our first visit to Peru and it was all an adventure. The free taxi supplied by the hotel was the start of it and the friendly driver made the journey from the hotel enjoyable and interesting. I would highly recommend San Antonio Abad to anyone traveling to Lima. The staff went out of their way to be sure we had reliable taxis wherever and whenever we wanted them. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious. The staff were very friendly and added to our feeling comfortable and safe. They were especially helpful when we asked questions or directions. The hotel itself is lovely with it's garden and delightful living room area. The location of the hotel is ideal. It's close enough to many attractions and in a very attractive neighbourhood. We walked many places in the general area, and felt comfortable there. It was so good we stayed there on the last couple of days in Lima. When we left the hotel to return home, we felt like we were leaving "family" and felt much appreciation for their hospitality. If you are traveling to Lima, this is the place to stay!!!

The San Antonio Abad Hotel was an excellent choice of accommodation for me and my fiancee when we visited Peru. Apart from the convenient location, we enjoyed the hospitality, food and general feel of the hotel. We will definitely stay there again when we visit Lima.

I have been coming to San Antonio de Abad Hotel since early 1994. I find it as a very warm and friendly environment that makes me feel at home. We had a very nice stay at the hotel. When my luggage didn't make it with me on my flight, Paul, who met me at the airport, took me to the local store to buy a few toilet items. The people at the desk answered our questions and helped us whenever they could. Our room was pleasant and well-kept.

Travelling alone as a first time visitor to Lima, I was put immediately at ease by the friendly, competent staff of the hotel. This great service began at the airport - even though my plane arrived early, a hotel driver was there to greet me. I found the hotel itself to be charming and comfortable -- with the best coffee that I have ever had served at breakfast! I chose the hotel on the recommendation of friends, and have recommended it to others, who have also been delighted with their stay. Hope to return myself someday soon.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Miraflores and at the Hotel San Antonio Abad. The staff was friendly and courteous, and the rooms were beautiful and comfortable. I must particularly commend the hotel because of our arrival very early Christmas morning; we were treated with care and not hurried, rushed, or neglected even on this major holiday. I would highly recommend San Antonio Abad to anyone traveling to Lima. The staff went out of their way to be sure we had reliable transportation wherever and whenever we wanted it. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and well-kept. The staff was very friendly and added to our feeling comfortable and safe. They were especially helpful when we asked questions or directions. The hotel itself is lovely with it's garden plaza and delightful living room area. The location of the hotel is ideal. It's close enough to many attractions and in a very safe neighborhood. We walked many places in that general area, and felt comfortable there. When we left the hotel to return home, we felt like we were leaving "family" and felt much appreciation for their hospitality. If you are traveling to Lima, this is the place to stay!!! Jessica

My friend Gurjit and I stayed with you both at the beginning and at the end of our one-month stay in Peru and I have to say that it was one of the highlights of our trip. Your hotel is a real oasis in Miraflores; a beautiful building, a great location and a superb staff. Everyone with whom we dealt was so genuinely nice, extremely helpful and made us feel like family. It was a good move to book into San Antonio Abad on our first night in Peru. Picked up from the airport and welcomed in a clean, safe place when it was late and I was disorientated - it just made things that bit easier and made sure I was well rested for the beginnings of my travels...

I have stayed at the Hotel San Antonio Abad numerous times during the past six years. It is very convenient, clean, well-run, and safe. You can have total confidence in the hotel and its staff -- I consider them friends. Pickup at the airport is a definite plus. The breakfast buffet provides a well rounded start to the day. They looked after our excess baggage while we were traveling to Nasca and Paracas and made sure any taxi we used was safe. Breakfasts were excellent! The public room are very nice. Almost always there was someone available who spoke good English. Our minimal Espanol was adequate only when everything was going perfectly. The only thing to watch out for if you are tall, is the height of the door jams entering the rooms. They don't admit anyone over 6 foot tall. Just remember to duck or wear a hard hat. This was a problem in other places also.

I would have to echo all the comments so far in the guestbook - the staff were very helpful, friendly and the hotel was a welcome stop after 3 weeks of hostals! Our stay at the San Antonio Abad was great. During a 6 week trip to Peru and Bolivia we stayed at the hotel on 3 separate occasions. It was like our home away from home. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the hotel location is very convenient. The transportation services were very good. June 2001 - Exceptionally friendly service, great value, ideal location, quiet comfortable clean ample accomodation. We did the Inca Trail and were happy to return to the San Antonio Abad.
